Maiko Culturedc Inspired Typorgaphy Design Research
Introduction To Maiko Performance
Maiko and geisha use shamisen-playing, dancing, and tea ceremony to enthrall their guests. Splurge on this exclusive experience for face-to-face time with an authentic maiko. Maiko is the term used for geisha apprentice in the Kyoto area, aged between 15-20. This project brief was to showcase a design for an event, perfomance, etc. I’ve choosen this traditional Japanese dance because of the unique culture and the intricate movement of there memorable accessories to clothing.
Typography Inspired Design
Details Explanation
The typography that I was inspired during research was from a red umbrella, the traditional umbrella that a ‘maiko’ used during a dance performance. Each of the letters are ideally shape to represent when the umbrella is closed up, with the top attachment details through toward the playful handle design. An alternal small detail of the curve edge at the very bottom of each letters to make the resemblance of the umbrella even more exaggerated.

Introduction To Maiko Peformance
ByJango’s aim is to help people find themselves and give a smell of calmness in their lives, which focuses on promoting a sense of calmness and helping people find themselves. Your approach to bottle design is also unique, as you aim to use general shapes to represent differences in human body shapes, as opposed to the typical human body shape bottle.
